Pottery Wheel Experience Class
Our Pottery Wheel Experience Class is perfect for travelers or visitors in Tokyo and everyone who wants to make Japanese ceramics for the first time. You can learn how to make a ceramic cup, bowl or small plate on the pottery wheel. We will teach you how to use the wheel and how to work with the clay. Each student can make one ceramic piece, using 500 grams of clay. The class takes up to one hour and is taught in a small setting, either individually, or in a private group of up to three students.
After the class, we will trim, glaze and fire your piece for you. Once it is ready (in about 4-6 weeks), you can come pick up your finished ceramic piece, or we can ship it to your home for an additional fee. We offer worldwide shipping.
The class is suitable for beginners with no previous experience.
Our Pottery Wheel Experience Class is a small trial lesson, which offers you a quick look into the world of Japanese ceramics. For a more in-depth learning experience, we recommend or regular Pottery Class.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A CLASS
Please wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable and easy to wash. During class, we are using clay and water, which might spill and cause stains. Clay stains can usually be removed during a regular cycle in the washing machine, but we cannot guarantee this. We will offer you an apron to wear during the class, but the apron might not cover everything. Please be aware of this. We advise customers who worry about their clothing and shoes, to bring an alternative set to wear during class.
Hair & Nails
Customers with long hair might be more comfortable when tying up their hair. We kindly advise you to bring your preferred hair accessories.
Customers with long nails or nail art might have difficulties when working with clay. This is especially the case when working on the pottery wheel. Although we will assist you with your work, we also advise you to keep your nails short if possible. Customers with nail art or manicure should also be aware that working on the pottery wheel might damage their nail art or manicure. If you have dry or sensitive skin, we would like to advise you to bring a hand cream to re-hydrate your skin after the class.
We provide aprons to protect a part of your clothing during the class, as well as water, soap and towels to wash and dry your hands. If you have other special requirements, please bring the products you need with you. Please understand that we cannot be held responsible for any stains and damage of clothing, shoes or other items, or any other damages that result from this class. By following the above advice, working with ceramics is a fun and safe experience. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
